The microcontroller has been programmed in C with AVR-GCC and AVRDUDE, under Linux.

Before, I programmed via the parallel port (DAPA). But I have now invested in a USB programmer, a Pololu AVR-Programmer-V2, which also acts as a USB / TTL UART to test serial communications.
